Aramco Acquires 49% Stake in HUMAIN in SR 9.9 Billion Deal
Aramco has acquired a 49% stake in the Saudi AI company, while PIF retains 51% ownership.
Aramco has completed the acquisition of a 49% stake in Saudi AI company HUMAIN, with the Public Investment Fund retaining the remaining 51% ownership.
Under the transaction, Aramco will contribute approximately SR 9.9 billion, equivalent to $2.6 billion, in cash to HUMAIN during 2026 through a wholly owned subsidiary, alongside the transfer of AI, computing and digital assets. PIF and Aramco said the deal will combine their AI portfolios under HUMAIN and support the company’s international expansion.
Launched in May 2025, HUMAIN is developing an integrated AI ecosystem spanning data centres, high-performance computing infrastructure, cloud platforms, advanced AI models and applications. Its portfolio includes ALLaM, its Arabic large language model, while the company plans to deploy three gigawatts of AI data centre capacity by 2030 to meet regional and global demand for computing power.
Aramco is also expected to use HUMAIN’s infrastructure to expand the deployment of AI across its industrial operations. Aramco President and CEO Amin H. Nasser said the company has generated $11.3 billion in what it describes as Technology Realized Value since 2023, with AI solutions accounting for a significant share.
PIF Deputy Governor and Head of MENA Investments Yazeed A. Al-Humied said consolidating the two organisations’ AI investments under HUMAIN is intended to accelerate technological development, intellectual property creation and the company’s growth beyond Saudi Arabia.
