Cairo’s Doctoorum Scores Pre-Series A Investment from Dubai’s Numu Capital
Doctoorum is aiming to expand its operations beyond Egypt and the MENA region.
Egyptian-born Yemeni-led Doctoorum, an online marketplace for medical tourism, has closed an investment from Dubai’s Numu Capital during the graduation from the AUC Venture Lab accelerator programme. Founded by Begad Nasser, Doctoorum helps millions of patients get affordable medical treatment and high-quality healthcare in curated destinations.
Doctoorum is currently taking advantage of this growth as it expects to raise a Series A round in the upcoming months. As the medical tourism industry expands to find itself one of the key market players in today’s world economy, Doctoorum is planning to expand its operations and growth beyond Egypt and the region to include destinations throughout Europe and Southeast Asia.
“Doctoorum is a very promising venture, and Begad has a solid understanding of the industry and have built a top-notch team that we believe in. We have been eyeing the medical tourism industry for a while, and we ewre thrilled when Begad pitched Doctoorum to us,” states Jamal AlMutarreb, the Managing Director of Numu Capital.
Numu Capital actively invests in early-stage startups to help them increase their traction and secure their next funding round with its unique value proposition and market insight, ensuring a friendly investment cycle that usually takes below 30 days to complete, from the initial pitch to wiring the funds to the startups.
