Ingame Sports, an Egyptian sports and gaming tech startup, has raised over $1 million in a pre-seed round led by Openner VC, with participation from Sports Radar, and regional and international angel investors. Founded in 2021 by Mohab El Tawila, Ingame Sports is a mobile platform created for avid football fans looking for an entertaining playing experience and exciting reward schemes. While it is currently based in Egypt, it has a holding company in the UK.
“Ingame aims to provide an innovative entertainment value to millions of football fans in the region,” El Tawila, Managing Partner of Ingame Sports, tells StartupScene. “Ingame targets its stronghold incorporation in multiple break-through interactive engagements that are exciting for football fans, and that have never been assembled in the gaming industry before.”
The startup recently rolled out a free football game in the region within the first three weeks of the launch. To date, the game has garnered over 17,000 downloads. With the new investment, the startup plans to expand its presence in Egypt and other countries. It also plans to launch new features built on web3 infrastructure while also incorporating blockchain technology.
