Furnwish, an Egyptian startup, is giving Cairo Design Award's interior design exhibitors a taste of its "cutting-edge" immersive augmented reality(AR) technology starting October 11th to 13th at Cairo's Nile Ritz-Carlton, Egypt. Cairo Design Award (CDA) is Egypt's first and only platform for award-winning design, creativity and innovation in the Middle East. For the second year, CDA will gather leading designers to showcase and celebrate the industry’s achievements and most innovative products.

During the event, Furnwish will host “The X Room,” an empty canvas where interior designers will be invited to showcase their designs and bring them instantly to life using their mobile app. "This partnership is an opportunity to introduce our cutting-edge technology to the design community. CDA has become the industry’s hub for innovation and with Furnwish disrupting the entire furniture industry with its AR solutions, this is the ideal event for us to showcase our product,” says Reham Elmasry, Furnwish co-founder and CEO.

Founded in 2018, Furnwish is an immersive augmented reality app that helps homeowners visualise furniture in their own space as well as helps retailers and design professionals better showcase their products and services. Utilising augmented and virtual reality in home industry is on the rise; with renowned global retailers such as Ikea using it as a marketing tool where customers could even walk in a virtual kitchen for example and perform basic kitchen chores.

On her part, Furnwish's co-founder and CFO Ingi Naguib finds CDA as an opportunity for her team to build connections with the industry’s stakeholders by showing them how their app can transform their business. Nodding to Naguib and Elmasry's comments, Hisham Mahdy, CDA's founder says that they are always keen on introducing innovative technology; "This year we are proud of this collaboration with Furnwish and we believe this will be a beginning of a new direction in the industry."
