KSA-Based Retailo Acquires UAE’s DXBUY to Scale B2B Retail Platform
Launched in 2020 by former Careem executives Talha Ansari, Wahaj Ahmed, and Mohammad Nowkhaiz, the startup offers small businesses a streamlined, fully-integrated digitised retail supply chain.
Riyadh-based Retailo has announced the acquisition of UAE’s DXBUY, as it looks to strengthen its position in MENAP and transform the B2B retail supply chain.
Launched in 2020 by former Careem executives Talha Ansari, Wahaj Ahmed, and Mohammad Nowkhaiz, the startup offers small businesses a streamlined, fully-integrated digitised retail supply chain. Accessed through the Retailo mobile platform, an extensive catalogue of more than 5000 SKUs at competitive rates are available for doorstep delivery in less than 24 hours. To further lessen the financial burden on small business owners, Retailo also provides flexible payment options including BNPL services.
DXBUY, meanwhile, is a B2B platform serving as a marketplace for thousands of restaurants and cafes. The acquisition will develop inroads for Retailo into the lucrative hotel, restaurant, and café (HORECA) business expected to be with $60 billion within five years, paving the way for the company to scale it across the region.
“We are excited about the acquihire of DXBUY and expanding the Retailo family by bringing in formidable talent that will empower restaurants and cafes across MENAP,” saido Retailo’s Head of Investment and Strategy, Himag Vaidya. “Retailo is becoming an even more robust institution with a reach in multiple markets and business verticals. We are increasing our regional and commercial footprint and furthering our mission of adding value to the lives of small business owners.”
The Retailo app offers a single-window operation that provides restaurants and cafes a large number of quality ingredients to choose from, price discovery for smart purchases, faster delivery cycle to avoid wastage, tech enabled inventory management, and many other features and services.
