MNT Tech Holding for Financial Investments, a subsidiary of Egypt-born fintech MNT-Halan, has applied to list 1.6 billion shares on the Egyptian Exchange’s main market.

The shares carry a par value of LE 0.10 each, reflecting issued capital of LE 160 million, equivalent to around $3.12 million.

The Egyptian Exchange said the listing request will remain posted for five business days from September 8th in line with market procedures. The filing does not yet constitute approval for the listing or the start of trading, with required documentation still being completed.

The application comes as MNT-Halan prepares for a possible initial public offering. Earlier reports in June indicated that the company could seek a valuation of between $900 million and $1 billion.

MNT-Halan previously surpassed a $1 billion valuation in a funding round, giving it unicorn status. The latest filing by its holding subsidiary moves the company closer to a potential transition from private funding to Egypt’s public capital markets.
