Mumtalakat Partners With TRAIL to Invest in SLAM Fund
Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund has partnered with French investment firm TRAIL to invest in a private equity fund focused on sport, luxury, arts and music.
Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, has entered a strategic partnership with French investment company TRAIL that will see it invest in SLAM, a private equity fund focused on the sport, luxury, arts and music sectors.
The agreement was announced during the Choose France summit and signed in the presence of Bahraini and French government officials.
According to the partners, the collaboration combines TRAIL’s experience in the SLAM sectors with Mumtalakat’s regional reach and long-term investment approach.
The partnership will focus on developing investment opportunities across Bahrain and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council through direct investments and support for portfolio companies seeking regional expansion.
As part of the agreement, TRAIL will establish an office in Manama that will serve as its GCC hub, supporting portfolio growth activities and regional capital-raising efforts.
SLAM is described as the first private equity fund dedicated specifically to the sport, luxury, arts and music sectors, areas that both organisations view as offering significant growth potential.
The partnership also introduces the SLAM sectors as an investment focus for Mumtalakat's portfolio as the sovereign wealth fund continues to diversify its holdings across new industries and asset classes.
