Nabta Health Extends $3 Million Pre-Series A With Phoenix Backing

Phoenix Venture Partners led the latest close as Nabta Health shifts from product development towards commercial expansion.

UAE-based healthcare technology startup Nabta Health has secured new backing from Phoenix Venture Partners as part of the latest close of its ongoing $3 million Pre-Series A round.

The amount raised in this close was not disclosed. The round combines primary and secondary capital and includes institutional investors, venture firms, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.

Founded in 2017 by Sophie Smith, Nabta Health initially focused on women’s health before expanding into AI-powered preventive care for employers, insurers and healthcare providers. Its platform combines early disease detection and preventive screening with Aya, an AI-supported care navigation tool, alongside digital and clinical services.

The latest funding will support the company’s shift from technology development and clinical research towards commercial expansion, including customer acquisition, enterprise growth and new partnerships across the healthcare sector.

In November 2025, Nabta announced a $2 million milestone within the same Pre-Series A round, taking its reported total funding at the time to $4.5 million. The latest announcement represents a subsequent close of that round rather than a separate $3 million raise.

Phoenix Venture Partners, which is based in Abu Dhabi Global Market, is also taking a board role as part of the investment. Founder and CEO Steve Khayat will join Nabta Health’s board as the firm’s representative, while Dr Mussaad Al-Razouki will step down from his position as Non-Executive Director.
