Saudi Arabia-based visual content platform, The Stock, has secured $667,000 of investments in a pre-Seed funding round led by VEST Investment Company, with participation from a group of angel investors.

Founded in 2021 by Saudi photographer and producer Abdullah Al Musharraf, The Stock has a vision of empowering Saudi photographers through both opportunities and a platform to share visual content in an accessible manner, as well as to sell their works.

The Stock also seeks to fill the visual gap due to the perceived cultural disconnect exhibited by global image stock platforms, providing solutions based on aesthetics attuned with and reflecting prevailing Saudi cultural norms through images, videos, graphics, logos, and other visual products.

Its philosophy and operations are aligned with the kingdom’s Vision 2030, which involves investing into youth talents.

CEO Musharraf reflected that “our goals are vast, we know that creators are the wealth of the nation, and providing a supportive platform for them will inspire many to develop and produce, and this will contribute to enriching the local visual content to reflect our true identity.”

Musharraf was also confident following the funding and stated that “we look forward to being the largest encyclopedia and the first reference for Saudi professional photos soon.”

With the new funds, The Stock will further add new offerings and further develop its platform.
