The Sovereign Fund of Egypt has established a new sub-fund dedicated to industrial investments, with LE 1 billion ($19.6 million) in issued capital to be deployed alongside private investors and institutions.

The Egyptian Sovereign Fund Sub-Fund for Industrial Investment is fully owned by the sovereign wealth fund and will target sectors with export and growth potential, including automotive components and feeder industries, electronics and electrical appliances, food and beverages, textiles and ready-made garments, and pharmaceuticals.

The vehicle has authorised capital of LE 10 billion and will operate for 99 years from the day after its establishment decision is published, with the option to extend.

Funding can come from the sub-fund’s capital, transferred assets, investment returns, loans and other financing facilities.

The new vehicle joins the Sovereign Fund of Egypt’s existing sector-focused sub-funds covering infrastructure, tourism and real estate, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and financial services and digital transformation.
