Online portal, Qawmy, is saving Egyptians the bureaucracy of government services through its website and WhatsApp.
Ask any Egyptian what their worst fears are and most will invariably talk to you about the soul-sucking bureaucracy that they meet around every corner when going to get any kind of paper work done. New online portal, Qawmy, doesn't fix said bureaucracy, but it does give you the option of having someone else endure it for you.
From passports, national IDs and family registry, to birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates, Qawmy's services aren't only accessible via its website, but also through WhatsApp. Requests are processed and delivered to your doorstep within four days and it even offers services to expats living in Egypt and for professional associations.
The process is as follows: fill out your request online, receive a confirmation call, Qawmy processes your request, and finally get your documents delivered straight to your home. If you don’t own a Visa card, you can also do cash on delivery.
