UAE-Based Mobility Platform Hala Expands Into Egypt With MwaslaTech
The partnership will focus on exploring opportunities in Egypt's New Administrative Capital and other key cities.
Hala, a UAE-based e-hailing taxi platform, has announced its expansion into the Egyptian market through a strategic partnership with Egyptian company MwaslaTech. The collaboration aims to introduce Hala's innovative mobility solutions to Egyptian commuters and explore opportunities in the country's growing transportation sector.
Founded in 2019 as a joint venture between Careem and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, Hala has reported a 20% increase in new users in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the previous year. It has also trained over 2,577 drivers since January 2024 and introduced in-car digital screens to enhance the passenger experience.
