With blockchain solutions continuing to proliferate the MENA ecosystem, one leader in the field has been recognised and recruited by Vodafone to aid the telecommunications giant’s procurement arm in its digital transformation.

Based in Dubai, Block Gemini has built a reputation on providing blockchain solutions for enterprises in various industries such as supply chains, finance, real estate, healthcare, education, e-commerce and digital identity. The startup’s prolificness in this space has made them an ideal partner for Vodafone Procurement Company, with their solutions set to replace the current traditional manual procurement processes with real-time pricing and data insights. The partnership also means that Block Gemini has become the first MENA-based member of Tomorrow Street, a Vodafone-backed innovation centre, in Luxembourg which is overseen by Luxembourg-based incubator, Technoport.

“This solution is a key milestone in our supply chain digitalisation journey,” said Tolga Tomruk, COO at Vodafone Procurement Company. “By introducing hyper automation capabilities enabled by Blockchain technology, we will transform the way we collaborate and agree commercial terms with our supplier. This safe and secure platform will help us to generate efficiencies in our commercial and operational teams across 19 Vodafone countries.”

Block Gemini currently has headquarters in Dubai and Bangalore, India, and will shortly set-up shop in Luxembourg.
