Egypt's southern communities are finally getting an innovation hub, as RiseUp partners with Flat6Labs and TIEC to launch 'We Innovate.'
Ever since the entrepreneurial scene began booming in Egypt, Cairo has been the place to be. No matter what kind of startup you’re running you might fall behind if you’re not in the capital, mostly because all of the resources anybody might need are right in the heart of the city. But in recent years, as more and more entrepreneurs emerge from all over the country, it only makes sense for the new incubators and hubs to start appearing outside the concrete jungle.
Powered by the massive gathering of supporting organisations, including flat6Labs Cairo, TIEC, Urban Station Egypt, TEDx Minya, Enactus, and the Greek Campus, and Riseup, We Innovate will officially launch on October 15h at 9.30 AM, at Silicon Waha, in New Assiut City. The first of its kind in Upper Egypt, the center is developed by the joint stock company ‘Silicon Waha,’ in an effort to nurture the talent and willingness of hundreds of youngsters who lack the resources to build their own initiatives.
The new strategically located hub plans to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem for all of Upper Egypt’s startups and be a place for businesses to do some of their work that’s tied to the area. There are so many bright minds that we have and still haven’t heard about in Upper Egypt, and we are so excited for this new Hub to bring them all together.
