Vezeeta Scores $12 Million in Series C Funding Led By Saudi VC STV

The region's leading health tech startup Vezeeta announced today a Series C investment of $12 million led by Saudi Technology Ventures (STV), MENA's largest venture capital. Joining the round are existing investors: BECO Capital from the UAE, Vostok New Ventures from Sweden and Silicon Badia from Jordan, along with new investor Crescent Enterprises’ CE-Ventures from the UAE.

The financing will be used to fund Vezeeta’s continued regional expansion primarily in Saudi Arabia and for further investments in key new products. “We are focusing on empowering patients and consumers and currently serving them to capture doctors consultation and diagnostics bookings” Founder and CEO Amir Barsoum tells Startup Scene. “We will be using the round to grow into Saudi Arabia and to expand our offerings to patients and it won’t be related to bookings.”

Egyptian-born Vezeeta provides consumers with the ability to discover and book medical appointments and health services. With over 300,000 verified reviews, patients are able to search, compare, and book the best doctors in Egypt, Saudi and Jordan.It also provides innovative SaaS solutions that utilises cloud computing and big data to empower doctors, building the infrastructure for the development of the broader healthcare ecosystem.

Since establishment in 2011, Vezeeta has managed 3 million bookings in the region, served 2.5 million patients and connected more than 10,000 doctors in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. In 2017, Vezeeta has scored more than $10 million in venture capital from investors.
