10 MENA Startups Gear Up To Pitch at the 4th Seedstars Summit in Morocco

The finalist startups will get the chance to win $500,000 at the Seedstars Summit 2020 in Switzerland.

Global emerging market community and investor Seedstars will host its fourth Seedstars Summit MENA in Morocco on December 10 to 12. Wrapping up the 2019 Seedstars World Competition in MENA, the summit will showcase the most promising startups who will pitch in front of investors and industry experts. Startups with a high potential of growth will then be selected in the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland, to compete for the title of the Seedstars Global Winner, and win up to $500,000 in equity.

The competition will take place in Hyatt Regency Casablanca and will host over 150 stakeholders from over 15 countries in a 3-day journey that will conclude with a main stage conference under the topic of how technology shapes our future.

The 10 startups participating come from a variety of sectors and countries, all under the same umbrella of making impact and attributing to economic growth in the MENA region. The startups include Bahraini Software as a Service (SaaS) wellness platform, Hayatech; Jordanian offers and deals platform, Dealat; Iraqi online coding platform and course provider for children, IOT Kids; Saudi Arabian data-driven nano-tech startup, Quantum; Moroccan online used-car marketplace KIFAL; Egyptian premium medical and healthcare platform, Hospitalia; Turkish transport technology platform, Optiyol; Libyan parental and school communication application, iStudy; Tunisian e-sport tournament and monetisation platform, Seemba; Algerian youth opportunity discovery platform, GO PLATFORM.

The Seedstars Summit is divided into three days. The journey will begin with an intensive growth bootcamp for the startups in the first and second day, which explore methods for the teams to use to scale their businesses with the help of over high-quality investors and industry leading experts including Adnan Filali, Managing Partner at AF Advisory, and Amine AlHazzaz, General Manager de HSEVEN. The third day which is the main day of the event will host a ceremony with an introductory speech by Alisée deTonnac, CEO, Seedstars World, and a panelist discussion highlighting what it takes to scale up a successful startup and exploring the rising trends in tech and entrepreneurship in MENA.

The summit will be graced by the region’s leading pool of tech innovators including Mai Medhat, CEO and co-founder of Eventtus, Tarik Fadi, CEO of Algo Consulting, Saad Jittou, co-founder and CEO of Weego, and more. Additionally, the competition coincides with the opening of the new Seedspace in Casablanca, in partnership with Kowork. Among the companies and institutions that help make the Seedstars Summit MENA 2019 possible are MENA TECH, Arabnet, Mada, Qbic, France 24, and Startup Mgzn.
