The three Egyptian startups that have made it to the top four of 'We Make Future' were Notchnco, Yalla Super App, and Talents Arena.
Startups Without Borders, a global platform supporting entrepreneurs on the move, has concluded the 4th edition of its annual summit at Cairo Business Park. Hosting more than 3,000 attendees, the summit featured top investors, speakers, and entrepreneurial experts from the region and across the globe to support entrepreneurs and startups launch and grow their business in Egypt and beyond.
Alongside the numerous panels, workshops and fireside chats, the summit also included two startup competitions, encouraging startups to pitch their ideas to a panel of investors and experts. The first competition, ‘We Make Future’, saw 10 startups from Egypt and the Middle East compete against five Italian startups, with three Egyptian startups ranking the top four in the competition.
Winning first place was Notchnco, an omni-channel platform supporting digital communication between enterprises and customers, followed by Yalla Super App, a digital financial super app. Coming in fourth place was Talents Arena, an AI-based technical hiring platform.
The second competition, ‘Startups World Cup’, witnessed Egyptian startup Intella, a data intelligence provider, win first place, leading it to compete at the finals in San Francisco in one of the biggest global startup competitions.
“Over the past five years, we've taken on a mission to build a transnational ecosystem for entrepreneurs, no matter where they come from,” Valentina Primo, Founder and CEO of Startups Without Borders, previously told StartupScene. “We aim to build a startup ecosystem where refugees, migrants, and local entrepreneurs can thrive, driven by the strong belief that talent doesn't have a passport.”
Under this year’s theme, ‘Go Borderless’, the summit addressed a host of topics and discussions ranging from talents needed for the future of startups, to managing exits and building a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem, all with the goal of supporting entrepreneurs bring their business to life.
