Dubai Launches State-of-the-Art Food Tech Valley
Looking to bolster food security and innovation in UAE, the new state-of-the-art hub will include everything from R&D facilities to dedicated vertical farming areas.
Intended to be a global destination for enterprising businesses in the F&B sector, Food Tech Valley has been unveiled by the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, who has touted it as a city of its own.
It's hoped that, as a forward-thinking new food technology hub, the state-of-the-art Food Tech Valley will help advance agritech, as UAE works towards bolstering its food security. It will look to do so by reaching the lofty target of tripling UAE's food production.
Developed through a partnership between the Ministry of Food & Water Security and Wasl Properties, the centre is divided up into four main sections; agricultural technology and engineering, a food innovation centre, research and development facilities, and an advanced smart food logistics hub, while areas for vertical farming are also an essential part of the hub.
