Emirates Driving Company Acquires 51% Stake in AI Firm Performise Labs
The Abu Dhabi-based 2PointZero Group subsidiary plans to integrate automated driver testing tech as it pivots to an Emirates Mobility platform.
Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Driving Company, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange under the symbol DRIVE and a subsidiary of 2PointZero Group, has announced plans to acquire a 51% majority stake in homegrown artificial intelligence firm Performise Labs.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed. Completion remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Founded in 2024, Performise Labs developed the Intelligent Virtual Examiner (iVE), an AI- and Internet of Things-powered system designed to automate yard driving tests. The platform enables fully automated assessments with real-time monitoring, biometric verification and measurement accuracy of up to 2 cm. The system is used to digitise driver testing and candidate training.
According to the company, iVE has secured contracts with roads and transport authorities in the UAE and is pursuing expansion into Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan.
The announcement follows Emirates Driving Company’s plans to transition into Emirates Mobility, an integrated mobility platform that will include Excellence Premier Investment Group, Mwasalat Holding and ChargePoint. The transition remains subject to regulatory and legal approvals.
