Emirates NBD Partners With Dubai Future District Fund on AI
The partnership gives Emirates NBD access to startups developing AI, embedded finance, WealthTech and digital asset technologies.
Emirates NBD has partnered with the Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) to accelerate the adoption of fintech and artificial intelligence across its banking operations, while creating new commercial pathways for startups developing financial technologies.
The partnership will see the two organisations co-source, evaluate and pilot technology-driven solutions designed to improve customer experience and operational efficiency across the bank's services. The initiative also gives Emirates NBD access to a curated pipeline of enterprise-ready startups through DFDF, a Dh1 billion evergreen venture capital fund of funds anchored by the Dubai International Financial Centre and the Dubai Future Foundation.
The collaboration will initially focus on technologies spanning AI-powered banking, embedded finance, digital assets, SME solutions, WealthTech, compliance technology and next-generation banking infrastructure. Selected startups will have the opportunity to run structured pilots with Emirates NBD and potentially scale into commercial deployments across the bank's network.
The announcement comes as the UAE's fintech sector continues to expand. According to figures cited by the partners, the market is projected to grow from $3.16 billion in 2024 to $5.71 billion by 2029, driven by increasing demand for digital financial services and AI-powered products.
Alongside supporting innovation within the banking sector, the partnership is intended to strengthen Dubai's startup ecosystem by connecting high-growth ventures with one of the region's largest banking groups. Emirates NBD also said the collaboration supports its broader commitment to digital innovation and talent development through initiatives including the National Digital Talent Incubator.
