Gourmet Egypt Goes Public at EGP 2.76 Billion Valuation
The Egyptian retailer has secured EGP 1.3 billion in a landmark IPO, marking the first successful Egyptian listing of 2026.
Gourmet Egypt has officially made its debut on the Egyptian Exchange, trading under the ticker GOUR.CA, marking a significant milestone as the first initial public offering on the Egyptian market in 2026. The premium grocery retailer priced its offering at EGP 6.90 per share, which sat at the top end of its announced range. This valuation allowed the company to raise nearly EGP 1.3 billion by selling a 47.6% stake in its share capital.
The offering was structured through a secondary sale of over 190.5 million existing shares. This total was divided into a private allocation of roughly 152.4 million shares for institutional investors and a public portion of 38.1 million shares for retail subscribers. Investor demand proved to be high across both segments, with the private allocation oversubscribed 12.22 times, and the public tranche closing more than 55 times oversubscribed.
At the final offer price, Gourmet entered the market with a total capitalisation of approximately EGP 2.76 billion. This public transition is supported by strong financial performance, including consolidated revenue of EGP 2.1 billion in 2024. The company maintained its growth trajectory into the following year, reporting over EGP 2.08 billion in revenue for the first nine months of 2025, which represents a nearly 40% increase compared to the previous year.
Profitability has remained consistent throughout this expansion, with the company reporting a net profit of EGP 135 million for the 2024 fiscal year and the same amount for the first three quarters of 2025. The transaction saw B Investments Holding alongside the Abu-Gazaleh family and Amgad Sultan as the selling shareholders. Under the guidance of EFG Hermes as the sole global coordinator, the listing successfully transitions Gourmet from a niche delivery service into a vertically integrated, publicly traded retail powerhouse.
