The second edition of the AMAD Fintech Hackathon has set a new Guinness World Record as the world's largest fintech hackathon, bringing together more than 6,000 participants from across Saudi Arabia.

Organised through a partnership between Tuwaiq Academy, a Saudi technology training institution, and Alinma Bank, the hackathon attracted more than 2,800 teams competing both in person and online, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The event was held in Riyadh on July 19th, 2026, with participants working on financial technology solutions as part of the nationwide competition.

The achievement builds on the inaugural AMAD Fintech Hackathon in 2025, which earned a Guinness World Record as the largest hackathon held in Riyadh. This year's edition surpassed that milestone to secure the global record for the largest fintech hackathon.
