UAE Finance Ministry Adds Aani & Jaywan as Payment Options
The Ministry of Finance is the first federal entity to adopt the two national payment systems for fees and fines.
The UAE Ministry of Finance has adopted Aani and Jaywan as new payment channels for federal service fees and fines, becoming the first federal government entity to implement the initiative under Cabinet Resolution No. (176M/4M) of 2026.
The move enables other federal entities and collection banks to introduce the two payment systems under their own procedures, supporting the expansion of the UAE's digital payments ecosystem.
Developed under the supervision of the Central Bank of the UAE, Aani is the country's national instant payment platform, enabling secure, real-time transfers and settlements around the clock. Customers can make payments using a mobile number, Emirates ID, email address, QR code or International Bank Account Number (IBAN). Jaywan, the UAE's national domestic card payment scheme, is designed to strengthen the country's payment infrastructure through a secure and efficient card payment system.
"The Ministry of Finance has been committed to leading the implementation of this ecosystem by becoming one of the first federal entities to adopt it, recognising the importance of establishing a financial infrastructure that is secure, reliable and seamlessly integrated with banks and collection partners," H.E. Younis Haji AlKhoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, said in a statement.
According to the ministry, adopting the two payment channels will expand payment options for customers, support faster and more flexible transactions, deepen integration with the national payments infrastructure and improve the efficiency of government revenue collection.
