UAE’s Ajman University Launches Artificial Intelligence PhD
Ajman University’s first AI PhD pairs research labs with globally ranked faculty, adding doctoral depth to the UAE’s AI talent pipeline.
Ajman University has launched a PhD programme in Artificial Intelligence, delivered through its College of Engineering and Information Technology.
The research-focused programme places candidates within advanced AI laboratories and the AIRC Research Center, with supervision from faculty ranked among the world’s top 0.5% and 2% scientists.
The programme has been accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation and will operate within a university accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission.
According to QS Subject Rankings 2025, Ajman University is ranked first in the UAE for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and placed within the top 51–100 institutions globally in the field.
The PhD builds on the university’s existing undergraduate and master’s programmes in Artificial Intelligence and is aligned with sectors including healthcare, smart cities, sustainability, cybersecurity, financial technologies and digital transformation.
