Vodafone Business Egypt Announces AI Infrastructure Partnerships

Vodafone Business has announced two strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening Egypt’s digital infrastructure and advancing its sovereign AI capabilities, unveiling the agreements at an event held at the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The first partnership will see Vodafone Business join forces with El Sewedy Group and Cassava Technologies to establish Africa Data Centers Egypt (ADC Egypt), a new joint venture set to develop large-scale data centre infrastructure in Egypt.

ADC Egypt is expected to launch with an initial capacity of 20MW within its first three years, with plans to scale up to 192MW. The project will provide services including colocation, hosting, interconnection, cloud enablement, managed infrastructure and disaster recovery, while targeting local businesses as well as international technology companies, cloud providers and hyperscalers.

The first phase is expected to attract up to USD 200 million in foreign direct investment, with total investment potentially reaching USD 1 billion, alongside thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities.

In its second announcement, Vodafone Business is partnering with Cassava Technologies to develop sovereign AI infrastructure in Egypt, including the launch of the country’s first data centre dedicated to sovereign AI and the local operation of advanced AI applications and use cases.

Through the partnership, Vodafone Business will provide organisations and government entities with access to advanced NVIDIA technologies and GPU-as-a-Service locally, allowing them to access high-performance computing capabilities without having to purchase and manage the underlying infrastructure.

The infrastructure will enable data to be hosted and processed within Egypt, supporting greater control over data while addressing cybersecurity, data protection and regulatory requirements. It will also support the development and deployment of AI applications across government, critical institutions and businesses, alongside specialised training and enablement programmes connected to the NVIDIA ecosystem.

The announcements build on Vodafone Egypt’s wider investment in the country, with the company having invested more than EGP 125 billion over 28 years and planning more than EGP 20 billion in investments during FY2026/27.

Together, the partnerships expand Vodafone Business’s role in the infrastructure underpinning Egypt’s digital economy, spanning data centres, cloud services, connectivity and the computing capabilities required for the next generation of AI.
