From trailblazing Fetchr, to Careem, to Souq.com, 9 of the most eminent startups in Dubai - also known as the Middle East's Silicon Valley - are looking for the changemakers who will drive growth and innovation.

Capturing governmental support, imposing low taxation policies and investing highly in technology and infrastructure, Dubai has become a thriving startup ecosystem and home for many prominent venture capital firms. Now, its fast-growing ecosystem is filled with startups are calling out for the top-tier applicants with resilient mindsets to endure the entrepreneurial rollercoaster. Why join them, you say? Working in an emerging startup creates endless learning and growth opportunities, whether its juggling between multiple roles within a startup or getting to wear the decision-making hat. As the saying goes, "no one learned to swim while staying dry;" in other words, the best way to learn is to get your hands dirty. So we've rounded up 9 job opportunities in UAE startups looking for jack-of-all-trades applicants.

1. Talent Acquisition Specialist @ Bayzat:

Having recently raised a $3 million in investment in a Venture round, Bayzat is a tech-startup that provides companies with health insurance comparisons to meet client requirements, while offering centralised, secure HR solutions. They are currently looking for an experienced applicant that will be responsible for the full hiring process and developing employee engagement through a variety of initiatives.

Bayzat provides users with insurance comparisons. 

2. Business Development/Sales @ Souqalmal:

Operating in three countries to this date and closing off four funding rounds since 2012, Souqalmal is the leading financial comparison website in the Middle East. From credit card options to personal loans and mortgages to bank accounts, the startup provides users with all the necessary information regarding financial products. If you have experience in digital sales and are driven to push this startup to the next level, you may be the candidate they are looking for.

3. Managing Director @ Techstars Dubai:

One of the world's most impactful startup hubs, Techstars has invested in over 600 companies - some with multiple investments - and currently operates in four divisions to help other entrepreneurs succeed worldwide. Whether it’s through funding, mentorship, connecting, or even inspiring, Techstars Dubai uses its resources to assist in the growth of pioneering startups in the UAE. They are recruiting for the "leader of the Techstars Accelerator program;" basically, from recruiting and selecting the strongest startups, to executing the program to fundraising, these are among the many responsibilities of this position. 

4. Category Manager (Beauty) @ Souq.com:

Acquired by tech-titan Amazon last March, Souq.com is the leading online shopping platform in the Arab world, with over 40 million users monthly and employing thousands of employees in 7 countries. Although they have several job openings at the moment, this position requires finding new suppliers and brand acquisitions, brand management and developing sales strategies in the beauty categories.

Earlier in March, Dubai-based souq.com was acquired by Amazon. 

5. Full Stack Web Developer @ Arzan VC:

Dubai-based venture capital firm Arzan invests in seed and early stage startups in any geographical location around the globe. Having invested in distinguished startups like Careem, MENA Commerce and The Luxury Closet, Arzan VC is interested in nurturing risky, challenging and innovative startups. They are looking for a PHP developer who can write back-end and front-end codes and is capable of solving complex performance problems.

6. Product Manager @ Fetchr:

Ranked number two on Forbes’ 50 Most Promising UAE Startups and having secured a $41 million fund in a Series B funding last May, Fetchr offers proprietary logistics and shipping solutions to businesses. Allowing sending and fetching any package in a click of a button using your GPS, this startup is tackling the no-address-problem in emerging markets. There are around 10 new job opportunities at Fetchr, from accounting to HR to software engineers, and for those who are still studying, they are also calling for interns.

7. Business Intelligence Specialist @ Careem:

Having just scored a $350 million investment from Uber's largest global competitor, Didi Chuxing, and invested in Egyptian transport startup Swvl in the span of two months, Careem has become one of the fastest growing startups in the Middle East. This car-hailing app has expanded to more than 25 cities around the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and recently, Europe. As BI specialist, responsibilities include identifying and monitoring the performance of customers, captains and prices, as well as upgrading the pricing team's infrastructure for reports and dashboards.

Careem has been making headlines globally, with a recent investment from Chinese giant Didi Chuxin. 

8. Social Media/Marketing Intern @ MAGNiTT:

The largest startup network, connecting entrepreneurs with other stakeholders in the ecosystem, MAGNiTT is like a one-stop-shop for startups. Entailing a job listing, infographic reports, tool directory and direct applications to renowned VCs, this platform is creating a more inclusive entrepreneurial hub. Fresh graduates are needed to work from home - yes, you read that correctly - to enhance their social media presence and build strategic relationships with their partners.

9. Operations Intern @ Now Money:

Making an appearance as an exhibitor at the Innovate Finance Global Summit 2017and having just raised $700,000, Now Money is intertwining financial technology with corporate social responsibility. To enhance the lives of low-income workers, this startup provides them with financial services like current accounts and debit card through their application and service centres. Working directly with the cofounders, the operations intern will be responsible to build long term partnerships, develop brand presentations customised to stakeholders and track client relationships through CRM.
