Omantel Launches AI Centre & Startup Programme in Oman
The new initiatives aim to accelerate AI adoption and support startup-built digital products across multiple sectors.
Oman-based telecommunications company Omantel has launched an AI Centre of Excellence alongside a new startup programme aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence adoption and developing scalable digital products across multiple sectors.
The initiative forms part of the company’s “Everyone AI” strategy and includes the introduction of the AI Startups Program, which connects technology startups with Omantel’s operational teams and infrastructure to co-develop commercially viable AI products.
According to Omantel, the centre is designed as an integrated platform supporting the development, testing, and deployment of AI technologies within real operational environments.
The programme currently includes startups accelerated through Omantel Innovation Labs, including Decoil, Remedy, ORKI, DeepAstra, and Wiya.
According to the company, participating startups will gain access to Omantel’s infrastructure, integrated data systems, technical expertise, and regional and international partnerships while developing AI-focused products and services.
The programme targets sectors including telecommunications, financial services, energy, healthcare, and government services.
