Egyptian Ecommerce Startup ExpandCart Raises $2.7M for MENA Expansion

Egypt-based e-commerce platform ExpandCart raised $2.7 million in a pre-series B funding round led by Hong Kong's Betatron Venture Group, with participation from existing investors Agility Ventures from Kuwait and Egypt's Sawari Ventures.

Since it was founded in 2016, ExpandCart has grown to become one of the largest e-commerce platform builders in the MENA region, with a client base of 25,00 merchants across 40 countries who have generated over $850 million through the ExpandCart platform.

With this new funding, ExpandCart looks to expand in current markets while focusing on R&D, developing new products including their chatbot solution ExpandBot, which merchants will be able to use to contact their customers more directly and quickly.
