Bringing together some of the masterminds behind the startups and organisations working on blockchain, the UNLOCK Blockchain Forum is taking off on January 14th in Dubai,

Set to take place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel DIFC, the forum is one of the biggest Blockchain conferences in the region, whose high-profile participants include Jehan Chu, co-Chairman of the Hong Kong Fintech Association Blockchain Committee and founder of Ethereum HK, Everledger founder Leanne Kemp,Veronica Lange Da Conceicao, Head of Innovation at UBS, and the president of Swiss Crypto Valley Association, Oliver Bussmann.

“We are proud of the efforts we have taken to help build the Blockchain ecosystem not only in Dubai but also across the MENA region, says the conference organiser, Walid Abou Zaki, who is Executive Director of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Co. "We will have more than 60 Blockchain startups exhibiting, speaking, and attending UNLOCK Blockchain. We hope that Dubai benefits from having these startups where many are present here for the first time ever."

The conference will gather startups from across 35 countries, as well as over 350 delegates and global corporate tech giants, such as Smart Dubai, IBM, and Microsoft. “We have created an event that will bring Blockchain into the mainstream discussion and across various sectors," says Lara AbdulMalak, Project lead for UNLOCK. "Attendees will hear about what Blockchain is, how to successfully implement Blockchain projects. We will also discuss Blockchain in utilities, smart cities, real-estate, banking and more. Many announcements and agreements will be signed at UNLOCK to further develop Blockchain in the MENA region and encourage startups to flourish,” she adds.
