Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has invested in Spain-founded Multiverse Computing as part of the company's €500 million Series C funding round, which values the artificial intelligence firm at €1.5 billion and will see it establish its regional headquarters in Doha.

The investment was signed in Doha under the Startup Qatar Investment Program, with Forgepoint Capital International, BNPP Solar Impulse Venture Fund, and Bullhound Capital co-leading the funding round.

Multiverse Computing develops artificial intelligence language models and technologies designed to compress and optimise AI models, reducing energy consumption and computing costs while improving response times. The company's platform also enables AI models to run directly on devices, giving organisations greater control over their AI infrastructure.

"Our investment in Multiverse Computing reflects the ambition of the Startup Qatar Investment Program to attract high-growth technology companies that can contribute meaningfully to Qatar's innovation ecosystem," Abdulrahman bin Hesham Al-Sowaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Development Bank, said.

The investment forms part of the Startup Qatar initiative, which has supported more than 40 startups from 15 countries since launching in 2024. During Web Summit Qatar 2026, QDB announced plans to expand the Startup Qatar Investment Program with a target portfolio of QAR 1 billion by 2030.
