Aya, a Saudi-based e-commerce platform specializing in modest fashion, has secured $1.6 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Khwarizmi Ventures, with participation from Turki Alrajhi, Raed Ventures, Joa Capital, and FENA Holdings.

Founded in 2024 by Saudi entrepreneurs Munira Al Kadi and Abdulrahman Al Ammar, Aya aims to change the modest fashion market by consolidating its fragmented landscape into a unified, trend-driven discovery platform. The startup plans to leverage real-time customer insights to predict trends and empower local manufacturers to deliver on-demand fashion, staying ahead in this fast-evolving industry.

The newly acquired funds will be allocated to accelerate product development, expand market presence, and enhance the platform to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

The global modest fashion industry was valued at $295 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $375 billion in 2025, according to logistics giant DHL.

In 2024, Saudi startups secured $699.8 million in funding across 186 deals, with the e-commerce sector raising $84.5 million across 14 transactions.
