Dubai-Based Advanta to Acquire Misr Hytech Seed for $110 Million
India-based UPL is acquiring Egyptian seed company Hytech through Dubai-headquartered Advanta Seeds in a deal valued at around $110 million.
India-headquartered agricultural solutions company UPL Limited is moving to acquire Egyptian seed company Misr Hytech Seed International through its Dubai-based Advanta Seeds business in a transaction valued at approximately $110 million.
The acquisition is being executed by Advanta Holdings B.V., a Netherlands-based holding company within UPL’s seeds platform. Advanta Holdings will acquire Hytech Egypt USA LLC, the company that controls Misr Hytech Seed International.
Upon completion, Advanta is expected to hold a 99.98% stake in Hytech Egypt, strengthening its position in the white and yellow corn seed markets across the Middle East and Africa.
Hytech Egypt was incorporated in 1993 and operates in the agricultural seeds sector. The company reported turnover of approximately $34.9 million in FY2023, $37.6 million in FY2024 and $25.7 million in FY2025.
The deal forms part of Advanta’s broader expansion strategy in regional seed markets, using its Dubai headquarters as a base for operations across MENA while remaining part of India-based UPL’s global agricultural business.
The transaction is expected to close on or before January 31st, 2027, subject to regulatory approvals from the COMESA Competition and Consumer Commission and the Egyptian Competition Authority.
