Saudi PIF Discloses $26.38 Billion Stake in SpaceX
The sovereign wealth fund held around 154.15 million SpaceX shares at the end of Q2 2026, making the company one of its largest disclosed US positions.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has disclosed a stake in SpaceX valued at approximately $26.38 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2026, significantly expanding its exposure to the US space and technology company.
The sovereign wealth fund reported holding approximately 154.15 million Class A shares in SpaceX as of the end of June. The position makes PIF one of the company’s largest reported institutional shareholders, alongside investors including Alphabet, Fidelity Investments and Gigafund Management.
The disclosure follows SpaceX’s stock market debut on June 12th, 2026. Shares closed their first trading session around 19% above the $135 IPO price, following what became the largest IPO on record.
The holding gives PIF further exposure to the global space economy through SpaceX’s activities in satellite launches, communications infrastructure and Starlink. It also builds on the fund’s existing relationship with Elon Musk-linked companies; before the IPO, Reuters reported that PIF already held a stake of just under 1% in SpaceX and had discussed a potential anchor investment in the listing.
PIF manages more than $900 billion in assets and holds investments across technology, mobility and other sectors globally. Its other disclosed US positions include Uber, Electronic Arts and Lucid, while the SpaceX holding stood out as its largest newly reported position during the quarter.
