Dubai’s ‘KidTech’ Startup Periscope Media Closes Seed Funding Round

Periscope Media, a Dubai-based startup focused on children’s edutech and edutainment, has closed it seed round funding, 

The company specialises in digital solutions, platforms and products for e-learning purposes, with a unique focus on kidtech for MENA students that’s cognisant of the best engagement techniques, as well kids global kids’ privacy laws. 

“As parents ourselves we know only too well the importance of making sure our children are accessing not just quality content online but in an environment that is completely safe and private,” says Smeetha Ghosh-Jorgensen, CEO and Founder of Periscope Media. “Our mission is founded on protecting our children whilst providing an engaging and educational experience.”

According to MAGNiTT, digital solutions account for 6% of the total number of deals during H1 2020 in MENA. Dubai, being the epicentre of Middle East’s digital media efforts, is primed for Periscope to scale. According to ZenithOptimedia, a UK-based research firm, the UAE accounts for almost 14% of all media spent in the MENA region
