Egypt’s Gamesbandy to Expand Game-Trading Platform After New Funding
The Egypt-based video game startup will use the funds to refine its platform, expand its selection of supported games and invest in marketing to develop a wider user base.
Egypt-based gaming startup, Gamesbandy, has announced big plans after securing an undisclosed sum during a seed fundraise led by Flat6labs Bahrain and Tamkeen.
Gamesbandy is a simple and secure game-trading marketplace operating in the MENA region, offering users a safe way to buy and sell gaming accounts, alongside related accessories. A first-of-its-kind in the region, Gamesbandy makes its profits on the commissions of the transactions made on the platform.
The startup is growing rapidly within the ever-expanding gaming marketplace, giving gamers the flexibility to trade accounts, in-game purchases or virtual currency for in-game purchases. Gamers can sell their old high-level accounts to those not wanting to start at the beginning.
"Gaming is no longer a pastime," proclaims founder, Abdulrahman Aboshamah. "Due to the tremendous popularity of gaming throughout the world, many gamers have turned their passion into a lucrative business, and we're aiming to facilitate that for the gaming community.”
The Egypt-based startup will use the funds to refine its platform, expand its selection of supported games and invest in marketing to develop a wider user base. Gamesbandy also has its eye set on expanding its scope geographically in the future and endeavors to become an all-encompassing, one-stop shop for game trading in the MENA region.
