Egyptian healthtech and IoT solutions startup, Sotech, has raised $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Innlife Investments and corporate investor, Al Raya Kuwaiti. The startup specialises in smart IoT, OOH advertising, and data gathering in hospitals and clinics.

Founded in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, by a group of tech, marketing and healthcare Sotech provides fully integrated tech with a set of software and tracking platforms, merging the worlds of offline advertising and online campaigning. Their app helps clinics monitor the demographics of its patients and links that data to an advertiser dashboard that lets advertisers see their in-clinic ad performance.

Sotech also offers a venue management system that engages with visitors that enter hospitals and clinics, and follows their journey through multiple display touchpoints. Their system helps clinics manage their business as well as tracks data that could connect to a third-party advertisers via their smart hardware installed on location.

The Egypt-based startup currently works with over 200 clinics in Cairo. Sotech plans to utilise its new funds to scale its operations into 500 more venues and expand into the Saudi cities of Mecca and Madina. By creating a consolidated network for its data sets collected across the country, Sotech hopes to use its technology to track and contain infectious diseases.
