Egyptian PetCare Startup Vetwork Expands to Saudi Arabia

Vetwork now serves pet owners in Jeddah, with plans to further expand to other parts of the Kingdom.

Staff Writer

Egyptian PetCare startup Vetwork launches in Saudi Arabia to provide petcare services including health, grooming, and pet products to owners around the Kingdom. The expansion was supported by the recent pre-seed investment of $50,000 that was granted by 500 Startups, as they aim to close their seed round in a couple of weeks.

The startup’s successful expansion to Saudi Arabia provides a promising path to expand to other countries, reassuring that the startup’s strategy is on the right track. “Our operations and technology are solid, but more importantly, we are providing customers and prospective investors with what they want,” Azzouny tells StartupScene.

After witnessing much growth in the current industry in Egypt, Vetwork enrolled in the MISK 500 programme, which allowed Fady Azzouny, founder and CEO of Vetwork, to Saudi Arabia and study the potential-filled market that is estimated to be at least $1 billion large, and successfully launch their operations. The startup is currently operating in offices provided by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) to serve customers in Jeddah with a plan to scale to Riyadh, Dammam and Khobar within the next month.
