Kafr El Sheikh University has inaugurated the first ever artificial intelligence (AI) faculty in Egypt. The Faculty of Artificial Intelligence offers a four-year bachelors degree in industrial sciences. The newest enrollment batch will be 2019/2020 as it accepts students who had math as concentration in high school (Thanawaya Amma). Founded in 2006, Kafr El Sheikh University currently encompasses 22 faculties.

The new faculty was established in collaboration with UAE’s Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) to produce skilled labour in the new technological sectors. Moreover, the university aims to introduce modern specialisations such as nanotechnology, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and human development. Additionally, the programme was created in hopes to adopting new teaching methods that are reliant on interactive digital technology, explains Maged Al Kamary, President of Kafr El Sheikh University.
