Egyptian on-demand pet care startup Vetwork gains an undisclosed investment from Cairo Angels, the city’s very-own global network of angel investors determined to support startup opportunities in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa. The round was led by The Cairo Angels, Misk 500 Startups and participating Saudi Arabian angel investors, ensuring that the startup is financially equipped to strategically expand in the fast-growing sector with their first investment round.

“There are two reasons that make this investment very close to my heart," says Fady Azzouny, CEO and co-founder of Vetwork. "First, it’s coming from the Cairo Angels, which is one of the leading angel networks in MENA and who are also the engine behind MINT Incubator, in cooperation with EG Bank. “Second, we believe working with Cairo Angels will get us exposed to their deep expertise in investment, consultancy, and growth. We believe that their commitment to our company will give us a very promising runway for the next few months. We are excited in taking the next step in our growth story and better serving our customers.”

Established in 2017 by Fady Azzouny, Abdelrheem Hussein and Zeinab ElGeziry, the team of veterinarian doctors established the on-demand petcare provider to digitally enable vet-booking through their mobile application. The Cairo-based startup is now fully operational in Egypt's capital as well as Alexandria, while also recently expanding Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with more cities in the Kingdom to come.

“We are very pleased to have closed this investment round and to have co-invested in this opportunity with other regional angel investors," says Zeina Mandour, General Manager of The Cairo Angels. "We are very confident in the Vetwork team, who we have worked with closely when they were part of the MINT Incubator. Since then, they have gone from strength to strength."
