Investcorp Acquires Majority Stake in UK's Smart Managed Solutions

Investcorp has acquired a majority stake in Smart Managed Solutions, a London-based mechanical and electrical facilities management company, as the Bahrain-based alternative investment firm expands its portfolio in the UK.

Founded in 2008, Smart Managed Solutions provides critical maintenance services across heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, as well as electrical, fire, water and gas infrastructure.

Following the acquisition, the company plans to pursue a targeted mergers and acquisitions strategy aimed at expanding into new end markets and regions across the UK.

The move adds to Investcorp's longstanding presence in Britain, where the firm has invested across sectors including business services, technology, consumer products and industrials.

Smart Managed Solutions serves commercial and mixed-use properties, providing engineering and facilities management services designed to support the operation of essential building systems.

The acquisition comes amid continued investor interest in facilities management businesses, driven by growing demand for outsourced maintenance and building services across commercial real estate and infrastructure assets.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
