Bahrain-based alternative asset manager Investcorp has closed a $1.25 billion fund to acquire minority stakes in private capital firms.

The fund, Investcorp Strategic Capital Partners II, was raised by the company’s Strategic Capital Group and includes $1.1 billion in fund commitments alongside $155 million in committed co-investment capital.

The fund attracted backing from existing limited partners, many of whom increased or maintained their commitments, while also adding new investors from Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Gulf Cooperation Council. Participants include wealth managers, Registered Investment Advisors, single and multi-family offices, high-net-worth individuals, insurance companies and US private wealth investors.

The strategy focuses on mid-market private capital firms managing between $1 billion and $10 billion in assets. Through minority investments, the fund aims to support partner firms with fundraising, operational infrastructure and long-term growth initiatives.

Investcorp’s Strategic Capital Group provides portfolio firms with support across several areas including product development, technology and operations, generative artificial intelligence integration, human capital management and succession planning. The platform also assists firms in exploring add-on acquisitions and expanding investor access across key markets.
