The MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab and Saudi Arabia have announced that the General Authority for Small & Medium Enterprises (Monshaat) has joined the latest MITEF Startup Competition as the government partner.

Monshaat's support falls very much in line with its own goals in supporting growth and competitiveness of SMEs by incubating and fostering an entrepreneurial community. On their part, collaborative efforts with organisers Community Jameel Saudi and Bab Rizq Jameel are a necessary and vital step.

“Previous collaborations between Monshaat and Community Jameel Saudi covered

several areas, including supporting and developing the financing programmes provided by Bab Rizq Jameel Microfinance, cooperating in the field of entrepreneurship with the MIT Enterprise Forum Saudi Arabia, supporting employment programmes for the small and medium enterprises in partnership with Bab Rizq Jameel Recruitment, and cooperating with Bab Rizq Jameel Services in providing digital solutions for entrepreneurs,” said Deputy Governor for Entrepreneurship at Monshaat, Esam Saleh Althukair. “In continuation of this constructive cooperation, we provide support to the MITEF Arab Startup & Saudi Arabia Competition, the largest event for entrepreneurs in the Arab world, to empower entrepreneurs and strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Saudi Arabia and the Arab region.”

As has become custom for the annual competition, a series of roadshows are currently being held across Saudi Arabia and the region, with Monshaat hosting them in cooperation with the organisers. The intention of the roadshows is to introduce entrepreneurs to the criteria and mechanisms for applying to the competition, helping them with their applications, and ultimately improving their chances of winning what has always been a tightly and toughly contested competition.
