Qatar Attracts 3,295 Foreign Companies in Q1 2026
Non-Qatari company registrations in Qatar rose 66% year-on-year during the first quarter of 2026.
A total of 3,295 non-Qatari companies established operations in Qatar during the first quarter of 2026, according to figures published by Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The ministry stated on its official X account that the figure represents a 66% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
An accompanying infographic released by the ministry also showed that new commercial registrations reached 6,328 during Q1 2026, marking an 18.5% year-on-year increase.
The figures formed part of quarterly indicators covering foreign investment-related commercial registrations and intellectual property activity in Qatar.
According to the ministry, 1,661 trademarks were granted during the quarter alongside 43 copyrights, with copyright registrations increasing by 16% compared to Q1 2025.
Patent activity recorded one of the largest increases during the period, with 145 patents granted in the first quarter of 2026, representing a 134% rise year-on-year.
