Saudi Home-Cleaning Marketplace Matic Raises $3 Million to Expand in the Middle East
The cloud-based platform, which operates in the UAE, KSA, and Lebanon, has just closed the investment round with leading VC Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP).

Saudi startup Matic, an online marketplace for cleaning services in the GCC, has just raised $3 million in a Series A investment round led by one of the leading venture capital firm in MENA, Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP). The startup, founded in 2016 and incubated by Badir Programme for Technology Incubators and Accelerators, operates in seven cities across the UAE, KSA, and Lebanon.
The platform, which matches individuals seeking professional cleaning services with cleaning companies, has leveraged on technology to upgrade the convenience, quality, and safety of home cleaning, aiming to help regulate the industry and empower the individuals providing home cleaning services. In less than a year, the company facilitated over than 500,000 bookings, completed over 2 million hours of domestic cleaning, and activated 2,000 cleaning professionals.
"We are very proud of our entrepreneurs’ achievements. We are also delighted that they were able to prove themselves as developed and successful startups thanks to the hard work they have put in and the practical expert training they underwent in the programme’s incubators," says Nawaf Al Sahhaf, CEO of Badir Programme.

"The market of online booking services is taking off in KSA," says the startup's founder Rashed AlRashed.
Co-founder, Rashed AlRashed, indicated that the startup plans to use the investment to introduce new features as well as expanding in the GCC, starting off by launching in Al-Ahsa and Jubail in November, reaching five cities across the Kingdom in less than a year. "The market for online booking services is taking off in KSA. We’re proud to be paving the way that allows all residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to book a home cleaning service in just a few taps,” he says.
Similarly to Egypt's Mermaid, the startup offers convenient access to multiple cleaning service providers and various payment methods, with the added feature of helping ease the scheduling process through its cloud-based platform and intuitive technology, with a reporting feature to maintain quality standards across the platform. “We are excited to partner with the Matic team to solve the difficult problem of organizing the supply of part-time cleaning, especially in the GCC,” said MEVP's Managing partner, Walid Mansour.
