Saudi Arabian AI company Humain and Canadian artificial intelligence firm Cohere have announced a strategic partnership to develop AI computing infrastructure and support the creation of sovereign AI models and enterprise AI solutions in the Kingdom.

The agreement was announced during Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's visit to Saudi Arabia and marks Cohere's first international expansion outside North America.

Under the partnership, Humain will allocate at least 50 megawatts of AI-dedicated computing capacity to support Cohere's next generation of foundation models. The infrastructure is expected to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2027, with the capacity potentially expanding over the following five years in line with demand.

The collaboration will also focus on developing customised enterprise AI applications, sovereign Arabic-language models and specialised AI models for a range of economic sectors, with the aim of supporting the secure adoption of artificial intelligence across the Kingdom.

According to the two companies, the partnership combines Humain's AI infrastructure with Cohere's expertise in large language models to strengthen regional AI computing capabilities while providing organisations with production-ready AI systems tailored to business needs.
