Startup Weekend Cairo 16 Set To Kick Off On Thursday

With a wide array of mentors and 1,000 participants expected, the annual entrepreneurial event sets off on Thursday at the BUE.

Nearly 1,000 attendees are expected as one of the most important entrepreneurial events of the year, Startup Weekend Cairo, gears up to begin on Thursday the 14th at the British University in Egypt in Sherouk City. The event offers entrepreneurs, designers, developers, and innovators the chance to pitch their ideas, putting together teams and building fantabulous startups in one an intensive weekend.

Among the mentors participating this year will be RiseUp Summit’s Relations Manager Saif Edeen El Bendari; Ossama Suleiman, Head of Enterprise Marketing at TE Data; Kijami’s Co-Founder and COO Abo El-Ezz; and Rasha Tantawy, Head of Entrepreneurship and Business Support at the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (TIEC).

The event, organised by Startup Weekend Egypt and powered by Techstars, is part of a global network of startup weekends present across 200 cities worldwide. Headquartered in Seattle, USA, the grassroots movement has organised over 1800 past events. Kicking off tomorrow, this year’s edition will run for two days and is bound to be an incredible learning, development, and networking experience.
