South Korea's Rebellions becomes the first AI semiconductor startup to launch a corporate entity in Saudi Arabia, aiming to supply Aramco, deepen local ties and expand across the Middle East.

Startup Scene

Rebellions, a South Korean AI semiconductor startup, has established its first corporate entity in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, becoming the first company of its kind to formalise a local presence in the Kingdom.

The Riyadh office will act as a regional operations hub, supporting Rebellions’ ongoing collaboration with Saudi Aramco and enabling the supply of neural processing units (NPUs) for the company’s AI data centres.

This move builds on a strategic investment of $15 million from Wa’ed Ventures, Aramco’s corporate venture capital arm, as well as a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed for AI chip supply in 2024. Rebellions has already delivered rack-level chips and completed proof-of-concept trials at Aramco facilities. The Riyadh entity will oversee local hiring, sales, and technical operations, accelerating deployment timelines for Aramco and other regional clients.

Rebellions is also exploring partnerships with major telecom operators and tech firms in Saudi Arabia and beyond, while working with Marvell Technologies to co-develop AI infrastructure designed for Middle Eastern use cases.
