A strategic partnership between Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) and Nokia Solutions and Networks AE was signed during the annual Ramadan Majlis in Sharjah, aiming to expand knowledge exchange, accelerate innovation and strengthen capacity-building across the region.

The agreement was signed by Hussain Al Mahmoudi, Chief Executive Officer of SPARK, and Rima Manna, Vice President of Network Infrastructure Sales for the Middle East and Country Director for the UAE at Nokia. The signing ceremony was attended by Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SPARK.

The collaboration centres on developing advanced training programmes, specialised master classes and other initiatives designed to strengthen technical skills and innovation capacity. It also includes the development of a Tech Matchmaker concept and innovation support platforms intended to connect solution providers with innovators, industry partners and key stakeholders.

Four areas of cooperation were outlined within the agreement: knowledge exchange and innovation collaboration; stronger engagement with regional and global networks; the co-development of master classes and training programmes; and the creation of platforms that support innovation and partnerships.

The partnership is intended to support SPARK’s broader strategy of strengthening collaboration between government entities, industry leaders and academic institutions, while contributing to the UAE’s growing technology and innovation ecosystem.
