Nokia, a Finland-based global telecommunications infrastructure provider, has selected Cairo as its regional support hub for the Middle East and Africa, establishing a centralised operational centre to manage customer and network support activities.

The hub is designed to provide shared services across the region, enabling faster issue resolution, improved service delivery and closer coordination with customers and internal teams. It will support all major Nokia business units, including Global Services and Operations, Network Infrastructure and Mobile Infrastructure.

The move comes as telecom operators across the region manage increasing network complexity driven by 5G expansion, cloud adoption and rising data consumption.

“This milestone underscores our confidence in Egypt as a strategic hub for the Middle East and Africa,” Mikko Lavanti said. “By centralising our support operations in Cairo, we are strengthening our ability to deliver high-quality, efficient services while leveraging the talent available in the country.”

Nokia said the hub will streamline processes, reduce operational complexity and improve scalability, while bringing specialised expertise into a single location. The facility is also expected to standardise best practices across operations and align services with evolving customer requirements.
