Saudi Investment Platform OORI Secures CMA Licence
The Riyadh-based startup is preparing to launch a regulated platform for private market investments.
Saudi-based investment platform OORI has received a licence from the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to conduct Arranging and Advising activities, clearing the way for the company to begin offering regulated access to private market investments.
The Riyadh-headquartered startup plans to launch a technology-enabled platform providing Shariah-compliant investment structures for qualified investors. Its initial focus will be on curated opportunities in technology companies across the pre-seed, venture, growth and pre-IPO stages.
OORI previously raised a seven-figure USD pre-seed funding round in 2024, backed by strategic investors, family offices and angel investors from Saudi Arabia, the GCC and Europe, including Bunat Ventures and RZM Investments. The funding supported development of the platform, the regulatory licensing process and preparations for launch.
The company said it was established to address longstanding barriers to private market investing, including limited access, high minimum investment thresholds and illiquid structures. To support its investment offering, OORI has built partnerships with investment banks, venture capital firms, private equity funds, wealth managers, family offices and independent financial advisers.
Looking ahead, OORI plans to expand into additional alternative asset classes and develop digital investment infrastructure incorporating technologies such as tokenisation, smart contracts and its own Layer 1 blockchain built on Avalanche. The company said its name, OORI—meaning "to show" or "to guide" in Arabic—reflects its aim of making private market opportunities more accessible to investors.
